With repertoire taken from three labels, MCA, Warner Brothers and Epic Records, capturing all of the group’s greatest hits in one collection; with lines notes by UK renowned journalist Charles Waring.
The Los Angeles group’s music defined by its blend of funky grooves and soft romantic ballads and this all-encompassing collection includes all the extended versions of their biggest hits including the timeless slow jams, ‘Love Don’t Live Here Anymore’, ‘Wishing On A Star’, ‘I Wanna Get Next To You’ and the groove anthems ‘Car Wash’, ‘It Makes You Feel Like Dancin’, ‘Is It Love You’re After’ and ‘Do Your Dance’. Also included is the full 12-minute version of ‘RR Express’.
Producer Norman Whitfield, known for his work with The Temptations and The Undisputed Truth was the brainchild behind Rose Royce, and signed them to his Whitfield Records label, which was backed by Warner Brothers. He produced the majority of the tracks in this package, and you can feel his influence in these recordings.

DARLENE LOVE: The Many Sides of Love: The Complete Reprise Recordings Plus! (CD) (Second Disc)
The Many Sides of Love brings together all of the rare single sides recorded by Darlene for Reprise Records, both as a solo artist and with The Blossoms (the most famous line-up of which featured Darlene, Fanita James, and Jean King). The collection also features the sides The Blossoms recorded (with Darlene on lead, of course) for guitarist Barney Kessel and as The Wildcats. But there’s still that Plus! in the title. It additionally offers Darlene’s volcanic rendition of Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich, and Phil Spector’s “River Deep, Mountain High” as well as Darlene’s delightful duet with Bette Midler on the Spector-era classic “He’s Sure the Boy I Love” among other gems.. The CD offers an expanded 20-page booklet with additional photos and new tributes from Darlene’s friends including Dionne Warwick, Jackie DeShannon, and Stevie Van Zandt.
DUSTY SPRINGFIELD: The Complete Atlantic Singles 1968-1971 (Vinyl/CD) (Real Gone Music)
The collection brings together Dusty Springfield’s 24 U.S. single sides released during her tenure at Atlantic on one deluxe 2-LP gatefold set. These tracks have been remastered from the original mono tapes by Mike Milchner at Sonic Vision, and all but the eight sides pulled from Dusty in Memphis have never been reissued in these original mixes. TSD’s Joe Marchese provides the new liner notes based on interviews with Jeff Barry, Thom Bell, and Kenny Gamble.

Iconic veteran Southern soul man William Bell has been in the business of making records for 66 years, and was with Memphis’ fabled Stax label for virtually its entire 15-year existence (1960-1975). In that time, he composed and recorded many songs that are rightly regarded as classics, from his Stax debut ‘You Don’t Miss Your Water’ to the classic blues song ‘Born Under A Bad Sign’
